Pamoja Radio99.9 FM is a community radio station formed in 2007 to empower youth of Kibera and its surrounding area through education and information. In this clip, station founder and manager Adam Hussein, along with key staff, talk about the goals of Pamoja, the support of USAID and it’s training policies.
Pamoja FM offers internship opportunities to college students to enable them have hands on experience on journalistic practice. It also gives chances to the less fortunate people in the community to exercise their journalism potential.
It’s goals are;
1 Encouraging co-operation among the Kibera communities;
2 Mobilizing the youth to participate in the community development arena;
3 Partnering with other organisations, including foreign agencies;
4 Creating an environment suitable for creativity and innovation;
5 Encouraging professionalism, integrity, courtesy and honesty;
